Suburban Dabbler is a blog dedicated to helping those who are ready to dip their toes in the DIY movement. As a long time do-it-yourselfer and a former project manager, I am here to help you prioritize and try new projects around your home.
My name is Megan and I worked professionally in project management for 6 years before choosing to stay home to raise my family almost 11 years ago. While I have been home raising my two girls, I also renovated and sold our family home, volunteered with Girl Scouts and the local schools, and returned to graduate school to obtained my MBA with a concentration in Project Management. While my project management experience has been in IT, legal, and marketing fields, I found that I could still apply my project process to my volunteer, home improvement, and general DIY projects.
I am happiest when I have a project to direct my energy towards. I have been dreaming for the last ten years about buying a “project house” where I could renovate, update, and have space to work on my projects without completely interrupting family life. Last year this dream became a reality. As you can imagine after ten years of imagining what I would do, I had so many ideas that I needed to prioritize, budget, and plan. I hope is that you will subscribe to my blog and get great how-to tutorials, the tools you need to prioritize your own projects, and can share in the journey as I am renovating my home.
